the thing is hazzer i was not arguing for you not liking the Beatles, i was arguing your point that they are not legends-the fact that in your long essay you have not even tried to back up your original statement shows me how misinformed you were

I shall be honest I have never listened to a Beatles album in full. Why? I have never been attracted to. But I do acknowledge their legacy.

i recommend then you buy One(8.99 on amazon for 27 tracks-worth a pop surely?)-all the number ones and you will get a taste of the full range of beatles albums and the variety of there sound from the early 60s rock and roll to the later psychedelic sound. Then if you like it will be time to buy into the back catalogue. Hazz you seem to know the whos who in the history of music and by not listening to the beatles your missing out on the biggest band of them all.

I like Ringo best, I love a good beard against my ball bag, and he could tell me Thomas stories while he takes my engine up the dirty hill and all the way through the tunnel 'til the steam comes out
It's all wrong, I am ashamed to be part of this group sometimes

Only following in the tradition already laid down before I arrived on the doorstep of Talking Balls

How big an impact did The Beatles have in Canada?, obviously "the good 'ol US of A" was massive, but does Canada share the same musical tastes as it's cousin

Very big, but over the years not as much as The Stones, possibly because they tour(ed) here more and prepare for a large number of tours by rehearsing in Toronto for a month or so. Musical tastes in Canada have, for the past 30 years been fairly divided between The States & U.K. Now, concerts in Toronto at least seem to favour British groups/artists.

for those who voted for revolver can you explain why because even though i like the album i have never understood why people hold it in such a high regard compared to other beatles albums :102:

I like the songs on it

Taxman
Eleanor Rigby
I'm Only Sleeping
Here, There & Everywhere
Good Day Sunshine
And Your Bird Can Sing
Got To Get You Into My Life
Tomorrow Never Knows

for example, not that I don't like the others on the album, but these are the outstanding tracks, not just from this album, but in general.

As I have said, my fav album will change next week

i like the first three but at the moment the others aren't ringing any bells

ok i know all the songs now but i still wouldn't class them as the best stuff they have done-its all about opinion i guess
I'm not saying they are the best, I'm saying for me, for various reasons, they are outstanding tracks. There are other tracks that are far more outstanding. e.g. Yellow Submarine is a massively outstanding track, it was always prominent when I was a kid and was one of the first songs I remember. Musically it isn't the best, but outstanding nonetheless.

There are also tracks that are musical genius, such as Here Comes The Sun, which is probably my all time fav Beatles track.

You have set an impossible poll DD, expect some unexpected answers
