Question on Pointless tonight.

Brilliant to be part of the national folklore and that reminders such as this will carry on popping up randomly at least for a few years.

A couple of weeks ago, I think Eggheads had a question, "Who would present MOTD in his underpants if LCFC won the League?"

sour grapes..

They deserve to get relegated for the way they sacked Pulis. Most clubs would be looking to bring Pulis IN if they were struggling.

They'd won two of their previous 21 league games when they sacked Pulis. It was the right thing to do.
Giving Pardew the job was where they went wrong.

They deserve to get relegated for their dire performances on the pitch. They don’t deserve to get relegated for sacking Pulis any more than we did for sacking Ranieri. The record of Pulis at West Brom was abysmal. The fact that they made a mistake with his successor doesn’t change that.

It's not always the right thing to do but most clubs usually pull the trigger. Sometimes it's the right thing to accept that you don't have enough quality in the squad and that the current manager may be the best one to mount a comeback if you do get relegated - like us under Pearson. Like I said I think they made a backwards call, Pulis has generally been pretty solid at this level and most clubs in trouble would be turning to him to steady the ship.

I agree. Ultimately it all comes down to what you do on the pitch. The decision to appoint Pardew may be wrong (being generous there), but they were shocking yesterday and, if that’s indicative of what they’ve been like all season, they deserve to go down for that, irrespective of the managerial issues.

Everyone entitled to their opinion. You can't go from comfortably winning the title to suddenly being odds on for relegation and expect to keep your job. The difference there was we proved we had quality and managed to retain most of it too, so it was a massive underachievement. No doubt they were slating us hoping we went down after we made that call along with most of the rest of the country.

Tbh, I thought WBA had some good patches of play in the 1st half. If it had gone to 2-0 (as it very nearly did) we might have had a different game on our hands. Even at 1-1, they showed some promise. What was shocking (from their point of view) was how they completely gave up at 1-2. They folded, almost no other word for it.

To me, at times, they looked a far better side than Stoke for instance. They've just seemingly thrown in the towel, for whatever reason.

I agree. The WBA team are every bit as good as about ten others in the league. The difference between them and the rest, and why they folded as soon as we went in front, is confidence.

The mental side of the game is probably the most important. Albion went on a poor run in the second half of last season and the failure from Pulis was not to heed the warning signs and reinforce with the right sort of characters. They even had a couple of early wins this season but when it started to go wrong, they collapsed. Yesterday was completely typical of their last year.

Pardew comes in and recruits the likes of Sturridge?? Possibly the stupidest signing I can imagine in the circumstances beyond someone like Balotelli!

Except if he was the man in charge of unsteadying the ship.

Although I've not watched an England game for a couple of years, surely they're not desperate enough to pick Albrighton?

Whoever wrote that article does not watch him every week. Once in every five games, yeah, he's top class. The rest of the time he's a dependable slogger. He'd not fit any formation or style of play that England would use either.

The general point of the article is correct - Livermore, Lallana, Cork, Loftus-Cheek, Abraham, Redmond, Solanke, Wilshere, Ward Prowse

Useless sacks of shite have all played for England in the last year

Albrighton may not be an obvious example of an international class player, but compared to that shower he's feckin' Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one
