Sky Sports News yesterday were reporting that Chelsea want to appoint the new manager by the end of the week!

So they must have a fairly good idea who they want and that that person is keen.

Or it's just another case of Boehly having no idea how these things work in football, because I can't possibly see how they can get it done that quickly.

Reckon they could appoint Lampard before the weekend.

Sio Maresca is off to the big smoke for an interview. Hmmm.

How can a manager just go for an interview without agreement from the club?

Managers, like the players, have too much of the share of power. If we say to Enzo "no, you cannot go for an interview" he'll just get the ump and want out any way.

Especially when you consider we are going to start on minus points, there will be hardly any budget for transfers and fans were whinging when we were winning every week, never mind what will happen this season…

It’s a huge opportunity for Enzo, he’d be crazy not to go for an interview

He knows full well that at least half of our ignorant thick as pig shit fan base would be on his back as soon as we lose a couple of games

He’d be off like a shot if any of this were true

Which it isn’t, obviously

Agree. If he goes there, even if it all goes tits up, he'll still have what he did this season for us on his CV and he'll have Chelsea on his resume too, whether it's successful or not. On top of being much richer, I imagine his stock would still be higher in the wider football world, than it would be if he just stayed with us.

Vincent Kompany’s team just spent the whole of last season bending over for everyone and Bayern are sniffing around him. What you do means **** all; what you can convince people to think you can do is what counts. Same as every other industry that’s ever existed really.
