Not sure if we're talking about the same programme, but the one I've been watching has had an awful lot happening. Comedy, tragedy, pathos, sex, violence, rape and most human emotions in between and has been one of the best things I've seen on TV in years.

Distinct lack of fart gags though.

Cracking conclusion tonight, literally. The scene with Sean having sex with Boy George in the toilets was a bit unnecessary, but other than that, excellent.

One of the best things I've ever seen on telly, full stop. The series has been absolutely awesome from start to finish, hopefully C4 can get Meadows and the rest of the cast interested in doing another series or film, there's clearly so much scope to continue the story.

One of the masterstrokes of the series was changing Combo from a villain to a hero without necessarily changing his character. He might still be the slightly unhinged racist that nearly beat Milky to death, but all we saw of him in this series was a man in mourning after the death of his mother and a man whose unrequited love for Lol saw him think of nothing else other than protecting her, even though it meant him going back to prison.

The character of Combo might not have changed at all, but the side we saw of him in This Is England couldn't have been more different to the one we saw in the tv series, yet the character still felt like Combo. Therein lies the genius of Shane Meadows.
