There is a clash with the Tigers kicking off their game, being shown on Sky, just after ours. RL headlining this and now the Mayor is involved.

How did it get to now before realising the games clashed.

We both used to have home games on the same day in the past. If the fans didn't have to rely on using their cars, which is apparently the main issue, then neither club would need to move games.

Maybe the Mayor should be addressing the issue of public transport instead.

Leicester has without doubt the worst public transport of any City of comparable size. As the Mayor gets chauffer driven around I can't see him giving a flying feck anytime soon.

Yes and signs all over the most congested road in the East Midlands saying "no bus lanes" won't help, the city has been run by morons for decades, it's no wonder our near neighbours are far more attractive to business investors.

I find it utterly embarrassing that as a city we cannot operate two sporting events on the same day even with staggered start times

It is a shocking admission from a city that hopes to pit itself against others for business and prestigious sporting tournaments.

God forbid we actually become good one day and attract 30,000 plus crowds week in week out, the city would self-implode.

The annoying thing is that Soulsby was on RL this morning and said "we can't have both teams plasying on the same day...", wittering on about disruption for residents (?) and traffic congestion

Not once did the gumby idiot interviewer point out that we have always done that for many, many years without incident until only recently

'tis pitiful

The estimated cost of the scheme is around £4 million. We'll bid for cash from the European Regional Development Fund to cover some of the cost, and the rest will come from the sale of council assets.

On the thread though, bloody shame it's not going to be televised as that would have been quite a few games to watch for free but can't complain at what we've got already!

This was mentioned on Radio Leicester news early this morning. They said that the Tigers game had been moved.
