always say i wouldn't get involved, but i always end up doing so...fortunately with no major trouble

A chappie who was a much better jap-slapper than I and who taught what was then called unarmed combat to tough boys gave me a sage bit of advice. Unless the danger is imminent to you or your oppo, leave it. Walk away and do somthing public spirited like call the police or blag your way out of it. Even if you manage to sort it out you risk all sorts of repercussions. Above all do not fight battles you clearly cannot win.

If you have to do something because you are in imminent personal danger then you fly in with maximum agression, you use any useful tool lying around and you go for broke to disable your attcker completely. Rather fight a charge of using unecessary force than sustain a serious injury or worse.

At the end of the day it will come down to how strongly you feel about injustice, bullying or violent toe-rags.

I always think of what my dear old Dad said to me...when faced with aggression and its clear the odds are against you..Run for it

What if your attacker is on skates or is Linford Christie and a bunch of drunken 100 metre specialists? eh?
