Yeah a career average of just over a goal every five games isn't really too impressive for a striker is it?

Like I said,he's not bad but he's just not a player I'd go for:102:I'd be intersted to know how many of them goals werepenalties as well because I know he's been a Penalty Taker

He's not always played as a striker.

That's been his primary position throughout his career though hasn't it. The point being, I'm not sure how interested we want our club to be in a player who sometimes hits the back of the net, maybe, if he feels like it.

£1.8 mill is too much for a 29 year old striker: if we have that sort of cash to splash, we should have persisted in the hunt for Cox.

who is completely unproven at championship level, whereas Smith isn't

Smith going to Reading - to replace Doyle
Cox off to WBA
Forest signing several strikers
This will probably leave us with the forwards that got us up last year, plus DJ Campbell will be like a new signing, after Blackpool choked on his wage demands

Sunderland are looking to offload Chopra - but isn't he too similar in style to Fryatt to interest City?

He has already gone back to Cardiff, presume most of the Johnson money has paid for him, £4m been mentioned.

Don't think we will spend more than £1.5m on any player, is that a bad thing? - one of the last £1.5m+ players was DJ :icon_redf
