i watched him yesterday on sky, i think he looks a better player; moitured.

his goal was fantastic and he looks like a good prospect, i hope we dont sell him

Maybe Tommy has found his level.... nothing against the guy but he wasn't of championship standard and I can't see how that would have changed in a short spell at Blackpool.....

What was the grade you got for English again? :icon_roll

Tommy Wright isn't good enough to play in the Championship simple as.I don't care if he scores 30 goals for Blackpool he still won't be good enough.Best thing for both parties involved is for him to stay at Blackpool indefinately...IMO.

at present he could be a utility player for us. but we should be filling our squad with players who could potentially compete in the Premiership (for us, of course): a feat that is beyond TW.

best of luck to him though

Surely the point for City at the moment is that we are creating chances but not taking them. Quite frankly IF he is a better finisher than Hammond (not hard) or Hume then i'd rather have TW on the bench to bring on and nick one.

Incidentally thats 5 goals in 9 games which is a far better ratio at that level than Hume ever managed (similar age) and is 5 times as many goals as Hammond has scored in his whole career.

I couldn't give two craps if he isn't 'good' enough for this league but scored 1 in 2.

Unfortunately, at our level, he just is not good enough, I am afraid. A decent centre-half will have him in his pocket.

My point is though, that if thats the case then surely Hume and Hammond, on goal scoring records, face the same fate.

We are just going to have to agree to differ on this one,I'd prefer Hume to Wright it's just a matter of opinion.Long term I see Hume scoring more goals at this level than Wright,I might be wrong we'll see.Ideally we need another Striker to play alongside MDV IMO.

I agree with you on Hume, I was playing devils advocate. I would however prefer Wright to Hammond, but i'm sure most people would disagree with that.

I would agree with you on Hammond actually, only seen him play in highlights but going on what I've been told by relations etc who go down the Walkers I don't think he's going to score more than 5 all season let alone in 9,bit of a panic buy maybe....

Hume and Hammond are not out and out centre forwards, so the comparison is not quite the same. I could not see the point of playing MDV and Wright in the same team.

It would be quite a challenge to find anyone who is likely to score less goals than Hammond.

However, on the few occasions I have seen Tommy Wright, I would say that he makes insufficient contibutions to the game - but he has a bit of the look of a 'natural' goal scorer - i.e. he reacts quicker in the box than outside it... I think he had some potential but seems to have lost his way.

Why do the goals Elvis scored in Holland's relegation playoffs not seem to count to anyone? Not saying he's a great player but he has definitely scored more than one goal in his career!

Is that like moistured? Do they have him well lubed or something?:icon_lol:

Hammond has potential, and is in need of some attention from the coatching staff. If it were me picking the squad he wouldn't be in the first team though...YET!

he is 25! By the time he learns how to score he will have a bus pass!

If Tommy Wright is to make it at this level it won't be with Leicester. CL has shown that if he thinks you've got it, he will play you, regardless of age. What signal do you think it sent out to TW when a 15 year old schoolboy got in front of him in the pecking order.

From what I have seen of TW, he has 2 things going for him.
1) His name, remember the chants for the original Tommy Wright
2) The goal he scored against the trees.

Apart from that I think he's having notions way above his station. He may prove me wrong, but I find it hard to believe. :102:
