I was at Barnsley that day. It seemed even better live, but a sad ending to the day going out on pens.

I was there and remember going bonkers on the uncovered away end. It was a wonderful chip with the outside of his right boot - a trick he pulled off a few times. But is this great skill or confirmation that he never had a left foot?

Anyone remember a goal Joachim scored against Watford circa 94. Home game, I think we won 4nill. May have been not as good as these goals but I had a great view of it. He used his pace to out sprint everyone and just smashed it in to the roof of the net. Happy memories.

Always thought that was Millwall.

How come Joachim's career never really took off given how well he seems to be liked by Leicester fans (or how well he was liked at 18 anyway)? Was he always an inconsistent player who could be brilliant on his day? Or was a just an explosive talent as a youngster who never really reached his potential?

OFAF says he won the Euro U18 Championship with England.

Note the commentary in first video: 'the young man has the world at his feet..'; he was electric and really did send a buzz of anticipation around the ground whenever he got the ball. He rapidly got valued at £5m according to some newspaper talk and there were rumours that a top Italian side was watching him... I was convinced this was a special player who would go far and for whom it was just a matter of time before another club snapped him up...
He quickly went down hill... the rumour mill suggesting not for footballing reasons. There was a sad and rapid petering out to a career that should have seen him achieve so much more.

He was absolutely shit hot from 92-94. Struggled in the prem, especially after Little left. O'Neill clearly didn't rate him and moved him on very quickly. I LOVED watching him play.

He did. I was there at the final. He's the only player I've ever asked for an autograph - he signed a picture of him being held aloft by his England team mates.

I think he lost some pace when he got injured and that took a lot away from his game. He had a decent spell for Villa though and there was talk of him being called up to the England squad.

Drugs apparently, My brother swares he saw him regularly with a well known dealer in Braunstone.

The goal I mentioned is featured in City Great Goals a quick search lead me to another site where it is split into different parts. There are a few Joachim goals in there notably Spurs 94-95. The one I am talking about is indeed Millwall August 93. It's in Part 6. A good goal but I think it was better live. Great day from what I remember even if I did think the opposition was Watford.

How about this for a spine tinglier

I remember that Millwall game. It was the day I thought my life was going to end. Not at the hands of Millwall fans, but the hands of my Mother.

I'd taken my little brother to the game, and he was crushed against one of the barriers in Pen 2 that I had told him several times to stand in front of, not behind.

Thankfully he was okay, and we told Mother about it the other week, now we're both in our 30s....

She still told me off.

Do you have a link to that site?

Jj had special pace and an eye for goal. I remember him absolutely scorching past players with ease. In his time an electric player to watch.

I seem to remember him doing the 100 metres in less than 10 seconds in his boots in some sort of midlands challenge. Anyone else remember this?

It's just one of the rival sites named after a familiar Filbert Street landmark. Didn't want to name as was concerned about breaking rules and for fear of the wrath of Webbo. They've got a fairly good archive going in there now. I'd never seen City Great Goals before.

If anyone can direct me to the 2000 cup win highlights (Not the trophy presentation) (Or the Tranmere goal on Youtube) I would be very grateful. As to this day I have not seen them. I was not in the country at the time.
