SIR PAUL McCartney’s stunning Anfield show was today hailed as his best gig ever.

His management team said they had never heard him perform better.
And the fans in the 36,000 sell-out crowd agreed after his emotional two hour homecoming concert set up a spectacular 08 summer.

"Brilliant" wasn't bigging it up, "Brilliant" was understating it!!!

Line Up = As was. Dave Grohl was playing the drums, guitar and backing vocals for Macca on three songs.

Peter Kay was compare.

Did ''Macca'' manage to avoid that Jet propelled False Leg that was fired at him during 'Yesterday' ok ?

The Zutons opened the gig with a 45 minute set list, followed by The Kaiser Chiefs who were on for an hour. Macca was on for almost two hours.

I have tickets for yet another gig. :icon_bigg

Interpol. Wednesday 9th July. Sheffield Carling Academy.

Definitely over hyped-his vocals were off on "hippy hippy shake" and he struggled to hit the high notes on "My Love" as well

don't get me wrong it still came across as a great gig on the tv (i thought his version of "Something" was superb) but i feel its a bit ott to say it was his best ever.
The Kaiser Chiefs sounded crap on tele, but they were very good "in person".

I was shocked when I saw the Macca TV coverage, as was mg. The TV coverage is nowhere near a true representation of the gig itself.

If I saw that gig, I too would share your views.

As for "My Love", the voice breaking was down to the intense emotions in the stadium at the time of singing it. You could clearly see he was very upset/emotional/suffering, whatever you wish to call it.

Im off to see the futureheads in notts next week.

Great to see an arena style band in a small venue. The support weren’t great (some Geordie band). But the Futureheads were excellent, a lot of punk influence in the style of play that doesn’t come across on the albums. Also a couple of new songs one of which (they admitted themselves) was very queen like.

yes pal been told not to park near venue! did you?

When Ive been there Ive parked at the Bull ring and walked down, but last time I parked near there and didn’t have any problems.

I'm toying with the idea of flying over to America in August specially to go and see Boston - I really want to, as they probably won't be touring again for another 3-4 years after this... it's just gona be a lot to shell out to see one band =/
