Ended in an undeserved draw, and 1-0 series defeat. In general a very dismal tour and little positive to take from it. Need to buck up if they want to challenge the Aussies next time around.

Pretty diabolical performance. We need two more attacking batsmen and a decent quick. At the moment we're so easy to play against because we play such negative cricket. When Pietersen doesnt fire we dont fire, which used to only be in ODIs but is happening in tests too.

Sidebottom isnt test class. Bopara and Broad arent ready. Harmison and Hoggard both need to get themselves fit and play every test. Panesar has been found out slightly but NZ and SA are quite average players of spin so isnt that much of a concern for the next few tours.

Should have taken Ramps. He would have scored 200s on that tour. Granted he probably isn't going to be there in 2009 but sometimes you have to win the series in front of you, particularly when it means you could slip to 5th in the world.
