The figures are pure speculation and will remain undisclosed, what we do know is that Sousa has publically said hes going into the transfer market and has funds available, the owners are fairly wealthy (extremely wealthy if Taksin is the unknown "exile"), and they will want to improve the team quality and make a mark with the supporters, imo that figure may well be close to paulos budget.

every agent rubbing his hands and bombarding the manager with " top offers" .. is akinbiyi still available that means only have to find 500k

Assuming any transfer kitty has to include wages (over say 2 or 3 years contracts) then the speculated £4-5m isn't really a great amount - tho' better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I can't see the new owners going on a massive spending spree - so it will be down to Sousa to do a cracking management job.

Normally, to have a decent chance of promotion, you need a good start to the season so things need to happen fairly quickly.

The stakes in this division were raised to-day. Bellamy should immensely strengthen Cardiff and good luck to them for having initiative and luck (i.e. willingness to drop down a league for family reasons) to be able to bring in such a player.

Why won't we have 4-5 million to spend? The Thais are worth over a 100million so who says we won't have 5 Million to spend? Do the maths
Being "worth" 100 million and spending even one penny are two entirely separate things. QPR are the "richest club in the world" on paper. How much have they spent? Elton John could be spending tens of millions on Watford, he's "worth" loads.

Do the physics, and the psychology.

...who says we won't have 5 Million to spend?

Nobody has said that we won't.
What has been said is that none of us, including the Mercury, has the faintest idea how much the budget will be.
Big Sous himself probably doesn't even know yet.

Iv never heard of any of Sousa's signings so far, so why he would suddenly bring in any of the names mentioned is beyond me. Cash or no cash!

I expect more unknown foreigners.

I agree. With a manager, a coach two players from Portugal we stand a chance of bringing over Portuguese players who would not otherw*s* come to the Championship.

A question. I know that the transfer window closes on August 31st but is that also the date for season long and half-season loans. Either way the next two weeks seem likely to be very interesting.

The window closes then reopems shortly afterwards for loan transfers.
