From the other thread:

Logan has yet to be on the losing side since taking over from Paul Henderson at Hereford in the Carling Cup with the Foxes now seven games unbeaten.

I wonder what the record unbeaten run from the start of a City career is?

I haven't looked it up but I suppose there must have some debutants at the start of the 1991-92 season when we went seven games unbeaten.

(awaits Boc to confirm)

This would be a really difficult one to sort out. As in the case of Logan, the matches may not be consecutive so it wouldn't just be a case of finding City's unbeaten runs and then checking if any debutants were involved.

In the 1991/92 season which you cite, there were 10 players who appeared in all seven of those matches - of those Kevin Poole, Nicky Platnauer and Paul Fitzpatrick were all debutants in the first game of the season at Swindon and therefore were unbeaten in their first 7 games. It could be said that this is a better record than that of Conrad Logan on account of the fact that they were 7 consecutive games.

And of course Logan's run is still going after last night.

Do see what I did then...

I saw it. I have also broached the subject with my oracle - he has remained peculiarly silent on the subject.

was hereford his debut? i thought he has played before that, and this is just his first run in the team?

Hereford was his debut. He'd only ever been an unused sub before then.

Record is 13 by Percy Grosvenor. From his debut against Villa on 30th December 1933, he wasn't on the losing side until 17th March 1934 when City lost to Portsmouth at St Andrews in their first ever FA Cup semi-final. (the thirteen matches were consecutive - no gaps). Logan has some way still to run!

(thanks to Paul Taylor, co-author of oF&F, for pointing me in the right direction on this)

Thanks Boc and Paul :038: :038:

Well if Logan does break the record we should be in a fairly healthy position by match 14!
