I agree that Tunch shoukd not be rushed back, but how is he going to get match fit if he is not playing at least some part in matchs? Remeber we have no reserve team this season, there just playing one off matches. In my opinion Tunch should have played in the second half like Peterboro, for either the full half or the last half an hour.

Everyone knows Tunchev is the better player over Brown.

Have you not read any of the posts or interview with Tunchev where it says he is not yet fully recovered or match fit?

Obviously neither Tunchev or Pearson want to risk the injury flaring up before he is fully recovered.

So it is not a question of if Tunchev is better than Brown, just when.

We have an under-18 team with a full schedule, it's pointless to have a reserve team as well just to keep Headless fit for when he inevitably pisses off to another gullible employer. The costs of running a reserve team this season outweigh the potential benefits.

I didn't say that. With a couple of exceptions, all the players not in the first team squad are young blokes who play for the under-18s or are out on loan. The costs incurred by having a reserve team on a full schedule far outweigh any potential benefit (id est, keeping Headless fit for his inevitable move away from the club he evidently hates playing for). Far better to have occasional friendly games against other reserve teams, do you not think?

Effectively reserve teams have become excuse to field 7 Academy players and 4 players coming back from fitness. The positives outweigh the negatives. Keeping it to local friendlies organised when needed avoid the expense of travel, the future burnout of academy products and the admin of it all.
