Once Connolly told CL that he wanted to go, we had no choice. Financially good deal for the club. Heard some good things about Hume and I've got no problems with Elvis commitment.
Let be right we have had trouble getting goals for the last 18 months this must put a fresh outlook on it. The potential is first class, let give them our support and it might just be fulfilled.

Amen.

Amen too.

Amen strual cycle.

Aman... walks into a pub with an ostrich and a cat and sits at a table in the corner. After a few seconds the cat suddley shouts 'i'm not buying the beer, no way, its not my turn' so the man gets up and goes to the bar and orders three pints. When the beer had gone the cat shouts again 'i'm not buying the beer, no way, its not my turn' and the man gets another round in. This goes on all night and at last orders the barman decides to ask the man what is going on, 'well' the man says, 'on my way to the pub I kicked a coke can at the side of the round and out popped a genie and grated me one wish and I ended up with those two'. 'What the hell did you wish for' the barman asked, the man replied 'A big bird with a tight pussy'

Boom, Boom.

isn't it a bird with long legs?

Iwan is avaliable again. Maybe he was the answer. We have missed out big style there!!;)

A further positive of Connolly moving on is that it has created greater competition for places up front. We now have an excellent choice in the striking department and from what I can see now both striking positions are up for grabs and a number of permutations.

De Vries / Hume

Dublin / Hume

Hammond / Hume

De Vries / Hammond

Dublin / Hammond

We can also play with 3 up top now with either Dublin or De Vries down the middle with both Hammond and Hume playing off either side.

These are all genuine partnerships that could be productive with each player offering something different.

With Connolly we were resticted, he was always going to be a gaurenteed selection, injury / suspension permitting and it stood out a country mile that he linked up a hell of a lot better with De Vries than Dublin. This IMO restricted our options and made us predictable. From what I saw of Hammond against Crewe and Bury was that he linked well with both Dublin and De Vries and the likelihood will be Hume will be the same. This will increase competition and also provide Craig with more striking options and help us lose the predictability, the more I think about it the more excited I am by yesterdays deals.

Im not 100% sure how tall Hume is but I would wager that he is taller than DC and therefore it would be more likely that we could put the ball into the box better to the forwards from set peices.

Ok ok what im trying to say is what is the craic with these silly floaty corners? and can we now try some variations with the new striker partnerships we have?

He is barely bigger than DC if at all!!! 5' 8'' I think.

Not sure mate, it would appear we are admitting we dont have anyone capable of putting an accurate ball in to the heart of the box. When we were putting balls in last season Wilcox, Tiatto and Williams were all as bad as each other.

I think the floaty corner has merit but not as your only option - Corners for me need mixing up, a different one each time - or at least 3 or 4 variants.

Yeh totally agree. As part of a mix they are not bad. But as our only option they have been rubbish. Wonder if Elvis can smack em in?:102: Although he prob would be better attacking the ball.
