The problem with Ferdinand is that he thinks he is Beckenbaur.
Over elaborates too much in the wrong areas, and ends up getting in a mess. Imo Ferdinand is more naturally talented than John Terry, but the Chelski man does the basics very well, and makes far less mistakes.

I don't think we have any other centre backs near top international standard unfortunately.... Rio IS when he cuts out the mistakes... I swear he doesn't make as many for Man Utd? Admittedly, he has Vidic there to do most of the work anyway though.

Think we should try it without Rio for a few games... but don't think Lescott/Upson/Woodgate are of the required quality either really... who else is there? Shame Ledley King is crocked, as he was really pushing Ferdinand and Terry before.
