No Alves again.

If he's not going to get minutes in the first team and he wasn't allowed to go on loan and he isn't part of the U21s, how is he supposed to develop?

We're killing his career. No wonder promising kids are leaving us when other clubs come in for them.

Aye he got heaps of minutes last season didn’t he. Yes he was injured for spells, but didn’t get a sniff when he wasn’t.

Would have been an ideal breeding ground, the Championship.

He was injured until December. Got injured again almost immediately. He came back again in February and got injured after a couple of U21 games. He returned again in April. Hopefully he's now fit enough to play for the first team, he wasn't fit enough last season.

Half time report

Limited impact from Alves

He's got on the ball a fair amount, but he's found it difficult to have too great an impact so far.

The Forest midfielders are sticking tightly to him so while he twists and turns and looks for a route forward to connect the attack, he's not finding a way through just yet. He's dropping deep to get the ball and will want to make an impact in the second half.

Won 3-1
Monga came off after 54 minutes
Alves played as well for 61 minutes which makes it 80 odd minutes in 3 days for him.

1-0 down - it’s a match on Sky Sports Plus if anyone’s interested

Missed the goal

It’s Sunday League standard so far, to be honest

HT

The standard is awful.

We've had almost all the possession and it's passing for the sake of it. The players don't really seem to give a feck. So much lazy football.

Alves is clearly our best player but he's overplaying. Golding looks shite. Our central defenders are horrific. The formation makes no sense.

U21 football is the place where talent goes to die.

I'll stick with it to see Monga come off the bench in the second half. See him in a City shirt whilst you can as he'll be poached in the summer.

Scoop!

We started pretty well, dominated possession and Alves and Golding looked dangerous. But when Northampton had the occasional attack our defence struggled. They had one good chance that our keeper did well to save, then another when the keeper was way out of his goal, but the Northampton player tried to pass it instead of shooting.
