What does it say?
Blah blah blah 44 years old blah blah third-degree burns, infection blah blah complications blah blah wrist issues blah blah Not Good At All. Not good.

President during a difficult time, was always going to have a tough time getting re-elected. Unfortunately he was beaten by Reagan and the world and in particular the US is still suffering from the consequences of his presidency(ies).

A very, very decent man.

In many ways the last actual professional politician to occupy the white house.

All since Reagan have been essentially media personalities. In retrospect Reagan winning in 1980 was the birth of today's world, we just didn't know it at the time.

Jesus, to think I actually remember saying when George W got in that he had to be the lowest level of humanity ever to be president & it definitely could only go uphill from there. That'll teach me to underestimate the complete ****ing hopelessness of the 21st century. **** knows what comes next.

I remember when I was 10 years old-ish. Around 1972.
I used to walk home from school at lunch time each day, and listen to Johnnie Walker. Truly wonderful times (I remember hearing a fantastic record he played with fuzzy guitars, no vocals except 'Hey' every so often - A song called 'Rock And Roll Part 2' - check it out....) and every Tuesday there would be the Top 30 rundown at 1pm. I would take notes and inform everyone back at school that Slade or T Rex or The Sweet had had a good week.
Johnnie had that distinctive voice - never forgotten. Part of my music life.

He died today at 79.
RIP Johnnie, and thanks.

Outside the chip shop at lunch break with a bag of chips & my little silver tranny radio. My Tuesday ritual every year of secondary school. Probably not thought about it in 45 years. Thanks for reminding me.

This is the child friendly version...

I'd forgotten about that version - I actually have it on their 'Holiday 80' double 7". Not played it for years.

I'm now remembered about this wonderful version on a John Peel session....

For some reason I thought all his stuff had been blacklisted.
I actually have no idea whether radio stations play anything by the creepy alien-looking nonce, I only switch mine on to listen to the football. Well, I used to. Can never be arsed any more. Not sure it even works. But anyway, there was one in the office I was in recently and I definitely heard the other two aforementioned kidfuckers.

They still play Michael Jackson and David Bowie so I don’t see why not
Never convicted is the difference.

Poor Gary. First people spend decades using your name as a euphemism for taking it up the arse, then you end up doing time for fiddling kids. His headstone is going to make painful reading.
