Some great goals in there but feck me, Mahrez was something special for us. The absolute calm for the goal against Man Utd on 24 minutes was beautiful.

Nice breakdown of Jamie's first 100 Premier League goals. Interestingly, Mahrez is still number 1 in terms of assisting him despite not playing with him for two season. Barnes is joint second which is inpressive considering how few matches they've played together.

This analysis shows just how important Vardy is to us. Finding a replacement should have already started and should be one of most important priorities. I hope the search is more fruitful than our attempts to fill the gap Mahrez left.

My own feeling is that the club has been aware for several seasons and have made half hearted attempts to resolve the question, either directly or as the much talked about 'Plan B'. It may be that the answer isn't a direct replacement but a change of style/tactics, and we've been quietly moving that way. It was perhaps more noticeable under Puel.

Vardy is pretty much irreplaceable and whilst he is delivering the goods then we stick with him - he's that good, and important to the way we play. In fairness to the club, it is a difficult one to address in the short term.
