Did we really expect to return to the premier league and to pick up points easily? I think people are delusional in their expectations. Our squad is weak for the premier league. We are and always were going to be in a relegation scrap.

Yep. I'm not a fan of Cooper but realistically our squad just isn't great. We've just got to end up being the best/2nd best of a group of 4/5 shite teams.

We're currently best out of a group of SIX shite teams, imagine how bad the moaning would be if were got as bad as that

At least he acknowledged it

“I didn’t really see it [the fan running on] but I heard the chanting in the crowd and I will own that,” Cooper said. “You’ll never hear me having any disrespect over a fan’s opinion or view because that’s what a supporter is — they need to support their club how they see fit. I will own that and I need to build some credit here with the supporters and earn the right to do the job.

“But I knew that and it’s things like that which make me even more determined to do well and I’m desperate to do that.

“I have no problem with it and it’s an experience I need to make the best of — what an opportunity to show how good I am and we are. Maybe it’s nights like this that you can form a stronger relationship from.

“I have really bought into what this club stands for, and I really take that responsibility seriously — and that extends to the supporters too. I’m glad I’ve been asked about it because it’s important to talk about it. But what an opportunity.
Bit of a different response to “if the fans complain about my boring as **** football, I’ll leave”.

6 matches in the Premier League with a newly promoted team is a bigger indicator of his talent than his whole career to date of leaving teams in a better position than he joined, don’t you know.

Once again you're missing the point.

Why must people make things up? It's really not conducive to a good conversation. Nobody, not a single person, was expecting us to breeze our way back into the PL. We knew it would be exceptionally rough. Nobody was or is 'delusional', that's just utter nonsense.

The problem is that Cooper is making the same mistakes time after time after time and he is seemingly incapable of learning anything. We look exactly the same now as we did in pre-season (even though that definitely didn't count and definitely doesn't show us anything). His team selections have been bizarre and his substitution choices even more ludicrous.

Oh, and the last time i checked, Walsall weren't in the PL and they were better than us for 90 minutes. Defending that hideousness in any way is simply obtuse.

I'm not impressed by Cooper so far, but fair play to him for acknowledging it in a good way.

I think he says the right things and comes across the right way that I hope he is a good man manager. It's tactically that I see glaring holes at the moment, so I hope he learns quickly from his mistakes.

We have started every single game with a setup designed to nullify and not create despite who we are playing.

We have persisted with Kristiansen and JJ as our full backs even though this hasn't once looked like it will work.

We have yet to play Fatawu and Mavididi in the same team, a combination that did so well for us last season.

His substitutions have been ludicrous and badly timed. They've almost always made us look worse.

I mean, I could go on to discuss our very obvious lack of any plan when teams start to dominate the ball or the way in which our ability to keep possession has evaporated into thin air since he arrived but I think that's probably enough to be going on with.

I get it, you think he's a good fit for us. I hope he is but we can only go on what we have seen so far. A complete fold against a poor Palace team, a dreadful performance against an even poorer Everton side, a dull, dreary loss against Fulham and a draw against League 2 Walsall, all games in which the starting eleven were suspect and our approach wholly predictable, doesn't get my motor running I'm afraid.
