Warning Severe Gales - Valid from Mon 10 - Valid to Tue 11

The Met Office continues to expect an intense low pressure system to move east across the UK during Monday, bringing severe gales and potentially damaging gusts across some areas. Southerly winds are expected to strengthen during the early hours of Monday to give severe gales, with an additional swathe of westerly severe gales to follow later on Monday into the early hours of Tuesday. Gusts of 60 to 70 mph are expected but there remains a possibility of 80 mph gusts over exposed coasts and hills. Much depends on the exact track of the low centre but at this stage, parts of Wales and the southern half of England continue to be considered at greatest risk. Disruption could occur to transport and power supplies and there may be damage to buildings.

Can sombody please remind me where Southampton is.

Its never as bad as they say its going to be,just covering their arses after that hurricane balls-up

It started here at 4:45. It hasn't come to much at all yet.

I was in Whitby yesterday and it was glorious. Beautiful weather. Had a lovely day. Thanks.

Good, about time they finished the old trout off.

I suspect that, as with our football team, it will a false dawn and she will live to fight another day.

That David needs locking up though.
