OK, if he turns out to be shit and do nothing then MM will fire him, he doens't have a history of sticking with inept managers.

MM doesn't have a history of signing successful managers either. I can think of two good managerial appointments and both of them are Harry Redknapp.

I don't like him, but he's the sort of character we need - someone who can kick arses and have some sort of direction.

On the other hand, I think we can do better so for that reason alone I don't want him.

Took two feckin days to come to that conclusion, and I'm still not sure...

Foxes put Warnock on short-list

Mandaric wants to take his time over his managerial appointment
Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric says Neil Warnock is on a short-list to become the club's next manager but insists no contact has been made.
Mandaric told the Leicester Mercury: "Neil Warnock is a good and experienced manager and may be under consideration.

"But he is only one of several on the list I will be considering. As it is such an important decision, I will not be rushed."

He added: "I have had no dialogue with him or anyone else."

Nigel Worthington took over as caretaker-manager of the Foxes in April after the departure of Rob Kelly.

He helped steer the club away from relegation and Worthington is part of a shortlist which is believed to include five names.

Milan has had no dialogue with Warnock or anybody else but then in a previous statement he had declared that he was discussing potential new signings with some of the short listed managers, don't believe all you hear from Milan, I expect Colin to be unveiled by early next week at the latest.

How long did it take Warnock to get Sheff U up to the Premiership?

6 Seasons.. although for 4 of those seasons they were a tinpot outfit struggling to survive financially.. I even heard a story that they used to take a few thousand off the official attendance figures so they paid less tax.. but that was only a story... :icon_roll

You can listed to the interview on the RL website. MM says, "gonna have to wait a little bit, it's a crucial decision. One of the most important since I took the club over. Before the month is finished I am hopeful we will name the new manager [...] there are some good people on [the] list. People that are capable of taking us where we need to go. [...] the only manager I'd want to bring here is someone who wants the job, who is comitted, who wants to be part of this great club and who has desire. Other than that I'm not interested. All these people I'm talking about they have very much interest because it's a great club [...] We are looking for some players that any manager would accept and we are also talking to some potential managers to see what they think about these key players. Unfortunately we are not looking for just one or two players in special positions. We need to bring some quality players in, it's not just going to be two or three. For that reason we're not going to let good players go away and be signed by someone else. We are working on that as we speak."

But when he said this Warnock was still Sheff Utd Manager...bit naughty of MM

Just out of interest what is it that Neil Wanker has done that Nigel Worthington hasnt done?

In terms of records not a lot, but Neil warnock has twice the passion for the game that wortho seems to show and im pretty sure the players would respect warnock more than wortho.

then why hasnt Warnock achieved more than worthington if a passion for the game is such a attribute to have?

exactly lako, and also gary megson, adrian boothroyd, dave jones, the list is endless-hes another manager who can't hack it in the top flight but has an alrite record in this division-yet no-one would touch people like megson with a bargepole (which i don't blame them for)-so why is warnock the saviour-because hes an angry ****?

so you would happily spend another season wacthing a load of passionless misfits walk around in the lcfc blue? fair enough.
