I'm happy with the signings of Howard,Oakley,Alnwick.Don't have a clue about Zsolt and Bori and I have never rated Hayles bit am prepared to give him a chance whilst sort of knowing my opinion won't change
and we're all thankful for that everyday newts, every feckin day.

I think it's impossible to assess the difference these players will make.
In recent times players have arrived at the club; people including some on this forum , have had fancy ideas about their impact and in the reality nothing much has changed except that our league position has got a bit worse.
I think January is a bad time to have to bring in lots of players - the choice isn't there; you tend to get cast offs at inflated prices.
However, in our pretty awful circumstances something had to be done - and if this makes the difference between survival and relegation then it will be justified.
As I see it, we have a poor set of players; a manager who is trying hard but finding it very tough to make an impact and an owner whose inflated expectations have now been properly pricked.
I expect things to get better - after all there are a load of totally skint clubs and at least three of these should finish below us.....but I don't expect any great improvements now this season. I think the target should be to try to improve if only by a place or so on last season's miserable position.
You never know Redditch, we might be pleasantly surprised by the new additions today and it could be the start of better times....I hope :icon_bigg

Howard aside, we've only signed a 35 year old journeyman and 3 loan players (none of which have any championship experience). This is hardly the transfer blitzkrieg we were promised.
Where is the left back and the experienced midfielder that Holloway mentioned were needed to guide the younger players through?
Isiah Osbourne is half decent, but him and Clemence alongside two junior hungarian wingers will not have coventry or anyone else arse quaking.
Does anyone feel a bit dissapointed that only 1.65 million has been spent and we don't seem able to win competition on wages over any other clubs for the like Martin, Norris etc.
It may be only Jan 11th, so time to go yet. But we don't have the luxury of waiting it out. We'll be bottom by the time he gets more players in!
Holloway himself admits we haven't done enough and that he hasn't achieved near to what he wants in the transfer market. It's easy for people to say that we have to be patient. But it's the same people that will be saying that it's not good enough if the hungarians flop, hayles looks off the pace and we end up playing Ngotty in midfield again.
