It's not quite as simple as that. Lord Ashcroft is trying to pull a fast one to take over the club without making an offer for the other shares, by launching a rights issue. The Rusos would get their money back, but then to maintain their present % shareholding would have to pay a lot of it back. Ashcroft is a slippery as eels and hopefully the club will go in to administration as it makes his shareholding worthless.
