No, they were down as guests, there were only a handful of search engines online. They came really quickly and then left again really quickly. I may be wrong if a spider can be logged on as a guest. The new user record is now at 399 at any one time.

Is there anything we should do Webbo? (change passwords etc)

Spiders are counted as guests and don't always show up as spiders in the stats.

If it was a hacker i'd expect it to show up as one guest not 300+
could have been a very poor dos attack but unlikely.

Could have been genuine visitors if someone put a link on a busy site.

They were looking at random posts from a long time ago, not recent stuff which I would expect new visitors to be viewing. I would also expect 300 odd visitors would result in a few to newly register. I was concerned because the previous record for visitors was Russian hackers if I remember correctly

The previous online record was due to spiders. The old version of the site was attacked by a hacker but wasn't anything to do with the number of people online.
