People who hack into sites like this are usually kids who do it to impress people. I moved us from the old phpbb system to this vbulletin one because this is more secure.

Slurp is the name of Yahoo's spider.

It wanders round the web looking at pages to add to the Yahoo search engine. I could ban search engine spiders, but it would stop the site being listed in search engines, so I'm not planning to do that. I do have a new add-on for the forum which should make it easier for the spiders to index the site but I don't think it will make much difference to the number of spiders online.
