No unfortunately not the 30 goal a season England striker at Crystal Palace, but the 31 year old Wales centre midfielder at the Baggies.

IMO he would be a good signing for a year, he's got experience and we could do with good back-up in that position, so he fits the bill.

What does anyone else think?

Hmmm, how old is he?

Sorry, blind this morning - 31 years old - no thanks - ok he is experienced but so what - so is dion dublin and he was shit.

Not a bad player and he is the one that stalled on MON offer BF.
He would be more than a back up player though if we did sign him though as we would not have any midfielders for him to be back up for.

He would be a good signing imo. we need a little experience in the centre of the ptich and somebody with a big presence.

Where did you read/hear this link Mike?

It was in yesterday's News Of The World. I got told it was seen in another Sunday paper as well, not sure which one though.

Was either in the NOTW or The People yesterday - we tried to get him on loan apparently as well....

They've probaly got us linked to Rooney:icon_bigg . I spose once in a while they get it right:icon_roll

However, he suffered medial ligament damage in his knee in a January match at Fulham and was ruled out for the rest of the season. He played 24 games.
He will be hoping to remain injury-free in the 2005/06 season in order to help his team avoid another relegation battle.

could be a mate for lee morris :102:

well i'm going be the typical fickle football fan!!

he could've had glory and hero status with us but he pissed MON about and then he went to Forest of all teams.....

bugger off and find some other club!:081:

Same said about Thatcher when we signed him, not sure if you can class him as a success or not. Played very well for us but soon fecked off when we went down.

Still think Johnson would be a good signing though in the summer.

thats true but it hasnt gone too swimmingly for him since he left us

not sure about him myself - it depends on what kind of deal, if we could get him on loan that'd be ok but I'm not sure about a permanent transfer =/

He is out of contract in the summer and with the window shut it couldn't be a loan. Think somebody had said we tried a loan deal, would make sense as you get to 'try before you buy'. I think he would be a good signing, got a bit of skill but works hard, he does not fall into 'we have got to get him' catagory, just depends who is available in the summer.

Don't think he's remotely as good as Ben Thatcher. Johnson can't get into a relegation haunted side; is the wrong side of 30 and has a poor injury record. Might be useful here - but no big deal either way.

I couldn't care less about the Forest connection. Some people on this web site are too ignorant of facts or too stupid/ bigoted to have noticed that MON was an ace Forest player....but they would't have much of a problem about him coming back to the club.
