Don't think he's remotely as good as Ben Thatcher. Johnson can't get into a relegation haunted side; is the wrong side of 30 and has a poor injury record. Might be useful here - but no big deal either way.

I couldn't care less about the Forest connection. Some people on this web site are too ignorant of facts or too stupid/ bigoted to have noticed that MON was an ace Forest player....but they would't have much of a problem about him coming back to the club.[/QUOTE

Great points as usual Redditch.

Agreed. We all loved Stan, and look at what he did for F**est.

It's his age mostly that does me, especially for an outfield player, surely if we want more midfielders we'd be best off going for some wingers? I guess hes after someone to replace Joey in the summer if this deal comes about..?

No more injury prone players please, but midfield is definitely the big problem area. We probably need three, as we're only going to have Wesolowski, Hughes and (ahem) Williams, if he counts. I presume Sylla has just been written off. Is Maybury officially a midfielder now?

and, sadly, I don't think we should make assumptions about Wesolowski given his unfortunate injury situation - arising in my view from a 'friendly' fixture that was always likely to cause a few knocks.

Far too injury prone for my liking,I still think Matt Holland would be a good signing for us.

Best thing youve said in ages HF!;) Like that idea, could be the type of player we need to control the midfield.

One of the only things I've said in ages.

IMO we will need at least one central midfielder if not 2 and at least one if not 2 wingers, IMO midfield is the area that needs most attention, whilst both Hughes and Williams are talented players, IMO they do not influence the game enough to be effective from the centre of midfield, especially in a side hoping to challenge for the play offs.

We need central midfielders who are capable in possession and can score their qota of goals, whilst also being to withstand the physical demands of Championship football, IMO neither Williams nor Hughes are capable of this, although Hughes is a decent option in a narrow midfield.

I agree with PFKAKTF our summer shopping list should be two central midfielders and a wide player plus a left back for a starters...don't know how realistic that is in terms of finances.

We already have moved out Dublin and MDV plus Joey will go so that should free up some cash...

Who else is out of contract this summer......Morris, Tiatto???

Anyone else see the fat feck Andy Johnson on MOTD on Saturday, I had not seen him for a while, he would be better off knocking on the Tigers door than ours in the summer.
