Good stuff. Not quite fit and no evidence yet that he’ll get back to where he was, but he’s on the treatment table so may as well get him to sign a new contract.

Yes, it could be a Matty James decision. Or the club have seen him in training, sense he could make a full recovery and either way he’s young enough to come good.

Given we are likely to lose Youri in the summer it’s the right move to show we are keeping our business model of not selling all our assets.
 
If he comes back half the player he was, he is still three times as good as some of the current residents of his position.

He's had a broken leg and some minor ligament damage from what I've heard, not exactly a career threatening ligament injury
 
If Newcastle were showing interest as was reported a while back its a good thing to extend his contract, he still might leave but at least we will get a good fee for him, unlike Tilemans who will leave for alot less than he's worth.
