Beckford to West Ham

Hammers keen on Beckford

Leicester understood to have received enquiry for striker

Sky Sports understands West Ham have made an enquiry for Leicester striker Jermaine Beckford.

Sam Allardyce is desperate to bolster his forward line as he looks to keep the Hammers on course for a return to the Premier League.

He has been linked with a number of players this winter but has been frustrated in his efforts to secure targets such as Nikica Jelavic, and has switched his focus elsewhere.

While Genoa striker Ze Eduardo has arrived ahead of a potential transfer, West Ham are also understood to have contacted Championship rivals Leicester regarding the availability of Beckford.

Beckford only joined the Foxes in the summer after a season with Everton in the Premier League, while he had previously plied his trade with Leeds.

So does this much quoted 3 club rules exist or not?

I'm sure Chelsea couldn't loan out one of the players they bought last season to Stoke because of it.

Konchesky played for Fulham, Liverpool and Forest last season though.

The transfer market is slow Sky are desperate for stories so at worst why not make it up, at best Allardyce has been asked would you be interested in Beckford, he's given a non commital reply, from which the reporter has decided he's interested and thats news.

Maybe a premier league rule then?

From what I can see Beckford could only join on a 93 day emergency loan arrangement as he cannot be registered by 3 clubs in one season. I don't think we'd let him go. 2 wins and were back in the mix, something I didn't think I would hear myself saying.

He was at Forest on an emergency loan I think.

Fairly sure you can't be registered at 3 clubs in a season.
