The football league uses the term emergency loan for loans that are between 28 and 93 days. It's to get around FIFA's (or maybe UEFA's) regulations about transfers outside the transfer windows.

Looks like this has some legs, the Moose from talksport, who is usually pretty good with West Ham stories reckons this deal could happen. I have no doubt that NP will have replacements lined up, my bet is that Mills and Beckford leave and I reckon 3 or 4 new faces in.
