That’s utter bollocks, the ref went to the monitor to be faced with a still image of his studs on the player’s ankle. Absolutely no concession for the fact he was barged and off balance.

Yep. Carefully frozen to make it look worse before he got the actual replay.

Defend him all you want. If that was a tackle on one of our players I’d want him gone. It was dangerous.

Add in the fact that he’s absolutely ****ing hopeless 90% of the time.

What a shithouse of a player.
Why should we consider his performance when deciding if it was a red or not?

He was shit tonight....

.... still wasn't a red card. At all.

That's the rule though isn't it?

The ref cannot review a missed push, they can only review the challenge. Hence it's a definite red.

What went on before the challenge is irrelevant.

If that wasn't Perez half the people saying it was a red, wouldn't be.
Totally agree. It was very unfortunate. I don't think for one minute he meant the foul. At least he was showing some will and desire to get the ball.

Why? They can consider a foul before a goal is given.

He shouldn't have been directed to look at the screen then. Those watching VAR can see he is clearly pushed and the challenge is a direct result of that.

Is it. I thought that it had to be dangerous. That requires either some intent or negligence, if you are shoved off you aren’t negligent and you certainly don’t have intent.

Yes. I thought that. The first image he’s shown. No context.
