Good fightback with the ball today after the batting collapse yesterday. Bit of a farce really with Leics playing a second XI.

Makes you realise why there were so many contrived finishes in the old 3-day championship, it's nearly impossible to get a win if the pitch is any good! It's certainly impossible to turn round a first innings deficit, unlike the 4-day matches.

I was wondering if the Simmons guy who made a ton is related to our own legend Phil....he is:

That helped to peg back the tourists after a century by Lendl Simmons, nephew of former Leicestershire favourite Phil Simmons, had put West Indies A in such a strong position in their reply to Leicestershire’s total of 205 all out.

They didn't play anyone from the previous championship game, which includes Walker. I may have played a few more experienced players though the ones who could do with some form. Just looking at some of the recent scorecards. Sadler, Masters and Griffith would have been options.

Decent bowling effort though. West Indies A all out for 350.

Now for some of the young batsmen to impress.

Does anyone know what Allenby actually is? He does seem to be that great in either discipline.

He's done fairly well from the games I've seen him in the 20/20. Looks a competent batsmen and can bowl a lively pace as well. He's definitely going to get better with time.

New and Maddy miss out on tons :icon_roll One of them to replace Mongia next week presumably.

Allenby does seem to be a bit of a bits 'n' pieces cricketer, but hasn't performed dreadfully so far. And he's Australian by birth I think so has got good pedigree!
