I used it as an excuse to work from home this afternoon; thank feck we have the most anal H&S Director spouting on about aquaplaning constantly - this is the only time I'm happy its raining.
 
Do people expect different then?
 
There were a number of flood alerts here in South Yorkshire. The river Don was close to bursting its banks at a number of different points including at Meadowhall, where they had their flood barriers in operation.

Panic over in Sheffield and Meadowhall for now as the Don reached its peak there and the concern now is for Rotherham and Doncaster as the peak moves along the Don. Rotherham rail station has been closed. Some roads have been closed due to flooding and when I was out this afternoon some roada were passable driving down the middle of the road and driving slowly through the rather large puddles.
 
What with this, the banking crisis and the face-eating zombie outbreak, I think this might actually be the end of the world.
These things come in threes don't they? Whatever that means
