Do footballers have any common sense, or do they just let any old shite flow out of their mouths!!!!

Has anybody ever read How To Win Friends and Influence People by Barry Hayles, or hasn't it yet been published :icon_lol:
Bloody nugget head!!!
But you've missed the point. He should be judged on his performances and goal scoring ability. He could say that all Leicester people are ugly and the town should be flattened with an atomic bomb - wouldn't bother me if he scores 10 goals in the next 10 games.
Is anyone genuinely offended by his comments??
But you've missed the point.
If he underperforms, this will haunt him. If he does as you say, and scores 10 in 10 it will be forgotten about.
Sterotypically football fans are stupid. The players must realise this and think about what they say to protect themselves.
If he doesn't perform then yes, it could.Hold on a minute, you really think a comment such as "Do I have a choice in this" is going to haunt him??
Yes, of course. But you wouldn't go and tell the customers of your new company that you didn't really want to work for them but you had no choice. You'd be a bit more tactful than that.Wouldn't that be any normal persons reaction to this situation? If I went to work and was told by my boss that I was going to another company and I hadn't been involved with the conversations, that is exactly what my reaction would be.
It does, it means he's made himself an easy target for the boo boys if things go wrong. I know that, and I think you know that.Doesn't mean he doesn't want to come to Leicester, doesn't mean the fans are now going to hate him, doesn't mean feck all really.

I can clearly see you are making a deliberate politician style effort effort to argue against me and to actively disagree with everything I say.Wow, your translation of "Do I have a choice in this" is quite incredible!!
If you think that every player that walks through our doors should be putting out statements that say "how delighted they are to join Leicester" or that "yes I turned down Champions League football to join Leicester City" you are sadly misguided!
Hayles has done or said nothing wrong - Fact. Had he have said that he would rather have joined Forest or Derby - I would agree that is a massive error of judgement and that the fans desevedly would be on his back.
Strikes me that whatever a player says, does, plays etc you tend to have a problem with it, so if you feel he deserves to be castrated by the fans for an innoccent comment - good for you.
I agree that most fans are stupid, but I fail to see that anything he has said is in any way remotely negative to joining Leicester City.
To be fair to the clubs and media, thay have to cater to the masses :icon_biggWhat irritates me - is how the clubs e.g. the official site and the local media - treat supporters as if they are all idiots.

If that's the masses, then I must be :icon_biggbut as you imply they are targeting the lowest level possible.

So I'll leave it there as we're obviously on differing frequencies and you can't pick mine up.
we would be better to try and get behind all the players (including new signings) rather than try and make their lives difficult?
Most are....as if they are all idiots.
I feel for you Matt, I really do.One quick question though, as you raised the point in the first place, do you not think given the position the club, the team and the players are in, we would be better to try and get behind all the players (including new signings) rather than try and make their lives difficult?
Poor Barry Hayles - all he has done is moved clubs and he has people like you trying to make him out to be some sort of Judas before he even kicks a ball!
If you (and others like you) put as much energy into supporting the club as you do slagging it (and its players off), maybe we might even here your voices on the terraces instead of just threads???
Why do you think he's a Judas?Just on me way to St Marys or what ever it is called these days
I hope that Nugget headed cnut Barry Hayles isn't playing...
Judas Judas Judas......
