3 more signings please sven. Mills, whittingham and kebe. Try and get naughton back on loan too, and then permanent at the end of season when were promoted. Maybe maynard if we can splash any more cash.

So 5 more signings then? :icon_roll

Did you put chairman because you couldn't spell his name??
I can understand it is a tricky name. But for future reference it is T O P.

No, it's not. That's our vice chairman.

When we've lost the first three games, everything will return to normal.

Well, I am going to say that I am also delighted with the signings that have been completed. At the end of the season the names going around were Beckham, Owen and the like; big names, but decidedly past their best. Instead of these, Sven has found players that have a profile but, all need to prove something.

There is no such thing as a guarantee of promotion but the squad that is coming together excites me.

It will need to be a well-managed and strong squad because I can see another 10 sides in the division who will also fancy their chances.

Only ten? I've never known you to be so optimistic!

Yes - I've decided to accentuate the positive.

I'll accentuate it even more when we see some actual positive results of competitive football matches - in my experience there is a right load of boll-cks talked by supporters during the pre-season making assumptions about players they have never or scarcely ever seen kick a ball.

Sven has rightly abandoned his (largely enforced on him by circumstances) strategy of last season in playing talented and inexperienced kids in favour of bringing in some more proven individuals at around this level. It should work better - but even I in my positive mode am not completely carried away at this stage.

Sven has done very well in the transfer market since taking over. Acquiring Vassell, Danns and Nugent without paying fees. Also getting Bamba, St Ledger, Peltier and Schmeichel for a total outlay of £3-3.5m. On the other side, he's sold Hobbs and Fryatt for about £2m.

A top drawer defender and striker for serious cash are in the offing - ideally the likes of Mills and Maynard. In addition, I'd expect 3-4 loans of quality young premiership or overseas players.

All in all, he's on target to turn an okay Championship standard squad into the nucleus of a decent Premiership one at a transfer cost of less than £10M. Not bad in this day and age that.

Sven, Top and Vichai are all doing a terrific job.
