Out of curiousity, I saw a review recently that claimed Field Music are the British equivalent of Steely Dan, would you say that was reasonable?

I can see the comparison in some ways, both use unusual melodies,accept they live in the shadows of poorer bands around them and have band members change around a nucleus of two. Fieldmusic are more guitar-driven however, I don't hear as many shades of Jazz coming into the music either. An interesting comparison but a more simple and lazy description of Field Music would be Wire featuring the Beach Boys.

Thank you, can't think of being, musically speaking, much further away from Steely Dan than Wire but I suppose if you put in a splash of Beach Boys
