Yes it is, largely.Isn't preing (?) just yet another behaviour driven by the cost of things though?

Yep. Eye roll and maybe a little sarcastic comment about it being cringe, which ultimately fuels my inclination to do it again.
That’s already in useThe Dad move at this point is to double down by including the word 'slay' into a sentence.

I get my 11 year old grandaughter with that one, she gives me the look, cracks me up everytime. That’s already in use
Protest Songs.
I have never been into 'protest songs'.
I love music, but it's the song and the performance for me, not what the singer is singing. Lyrics, in general are just words that sometimes rhyme, sometimes funny, sometimes cringeworthy.
I have more affection for pointless lyrics than determined ones - Give me 6000 Crazy by Spizzoil as much as Anarchy In The UK. Smash The State! - Yeah, whatever. What is the noise and attitude of the Drums, bass, and guitars? That IS important. Ooo Ooo Baby I Love You. Yeah, whatever. I don't generally listen to the twaddle the vocalist is singing, It doesn't matter.
Stuff like HMHB are fantastic, I will listen to the vocals on every track but they are an exception.
Protest Songs? Yeah, whatever.
But I did discover this track (below) a few years back and was really impressed. I listened. I took it in. I felt it.
I don't know if anyone here knows of Folk singer Dick Gaughan and a lot of people don't 'get' folk music, but I think this is stunning. A Protest Song?
Yes and how many years must a mountain exist before it’s washed to the sea?
We are so ****ed.
Cheers, good health mate.Weirdly, a Belgian friend gave me a scroll (toilet paper-style) of the calligraphy-written lyrics of that song for my umpteenth birthday. I have it around the wall of a room in my house. Music goes on for ever, despite the machinations of an increasing number of mega-rich idiots trying to dumb us down into submission. It's getting late into a Friday night, so cheers
I can see what you mean ted, but that doesn’t have to stop us trying to live how we want to live. I see pressures galore on my kids, for example and, yet, so long as they’re helped to make decisions about what is and isn’t really important, they can see through it. We get our own rewards.Cheers, good health mate.
I can only despair, honestly. I just don’t see any hope for the future really, everything’s for sale and I don’t know what’s left.
I just feel broken by it all really, I’ve done nothing but live a virtuous and empathetic life. I give time to charities, volunteer with kids in care… I’ve just applied to work at the local contact centre… but I feel like it’s just holding back the tide, nobody cares about anyone else and I’m genuinely terrified for the future.I can see what you mean ted, but that doesn’t have to stop us trying to live how we want to live.
