In the 1970's you used to find loads of esso wc coins in collections you took at work for weddings and births etc.

On surface warships you knew when you were close to a run ashore the galley used to serve up a pot mess for scran. The theory being that you would all get trollied after weeks cooped up aboard and that this stuff would flow back up easier when you chundered. (as you surely would).
