I'll pack this in now as nostalgia gets up some peoples noses, especially when an old man starts rambling on
Carry on mate, it's interesting to hear about times gone past. I bet they showed a hell of a lot more passion than the current crop!

My recollection is that they did struggle in the league (old second division) but as you hint had considerable individual ability which came out in the FA Cup run (which was then a premier competition - not a sideshow as it is Now).

They did - had to play league matches after the final to avoid relegation to div 3. They escaped, sending F****t down instead.

Name that team. ;)

Gordon Bradley, Horace Jelly, Alec Scott, Walter Harrison, Norman Plummer (Captain), John King, Mal Griffiths, Jack Lee, Jim Harrison, Ken Chisholm, Charlie Adam

May be just worth saying that this was, of course in keeping with the era, a five man forward line playing in a W formation - which was to be exposed by European sides as not the most goal proof....but nonetheless provided for a lot more entertainment than we get today.

Finally, Mal Griffiths was an outstanding and classic right winger.....whose career was obviously blighted by the time out through the 2WW.

Was strange how O'grady and Fryatt(worse strikers at the club) got in ahead of Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuume and Hammond. They were total shit!

I don't think it was made public at the time, but Hammond was injured for the Sunderland game and is not 100% certain for Fulham.

Iv'e read that on a site also.

Why don't the club let the supporters know whats going on through the various 'mass' media

I'm sure i'm not alone in thinking that Kelly was even more clueless for having a player in a suit in the stands one match to playing the next.

You assume its Kelly playing his 'like them...hate them' games again
