How many signings now 12/13:102:

Do you think the players that MA/MM have signed, will improve our club ?

Some of them will.

But the main thing needed to improve the performance of the team was getting the players to play to the best of their ability more often than twice a season. Too early to say whether that will happen under the new regime.

the difference is we will finish higher then last season and will be more consistant, but first the team will have to gel, i dont know how long that will take but we will finish higher then last season that is for sure

Can you get any worse than Maybury, Hughes, Elvis? They are three areas where we are definitely stronger. As Jeff said, it's too early to measure the degree of improvement, but on paper you'd have to be a fool not to realise we have strengthened in all areas.

yes, not necessairly with quality only time will tell but we were starting to look very stagnant and there was no belief in the squad we had left from last season.

Yes I think we have brought in some better players than we had playing last season. Now its time for the manager to show his worth and get them playing some good stuff and winning games.
I personaly think that he will and we will start to improve quite drasticaly over the next 6 or 7 games:)

The difference at the moment bar the left wing is we have more depth.

The quality has gone up abit but not a huge amount but then it was never going too immediatley.

Plus we at last have one decent quality midfielder. We havent had any quality there since we last got relegated hence why our goals scored record is shite.

Not sure. I think only one or two so far have genuine quality.

I think we are guilty of signing too many fringe players and not enough players of quality. It would have been far wiser to pay good wages to good players and have 4-5 very good signings than playing reasonably good wages to 12-13 fringe players. We have seen the evidence of our lack of quality in the past and we saw our inabilities on Saturday and during the week.

It really looks like we have massive problems opening teams up and specifically getting our centre forwards to score.

A lot of people are now saying with hindsight that they are happy not to have Fowler or Hasslebaink. I have to say I am not part of that group of people. It seems absurd to me. Would I rather have the likes of Hammond, Hume, DeVries and Fryatt or would I rather have Hasslebaink and Fowler...f*ck me there is no comparison. IMO the manager has dropped a bollock by letting his ego get in the way of what is best for the club.

I'd rather roll the dice and give someone with proven quality that still wants to prove himself a chance because out of that person you could get the goals you need. I know what I will get from our current crop of strikers...it ain't good neither!

We need more quality plain and simple and unfortunately it is a waste of time asking Milan to use his connections.

Good post Silver, i agree with most of what you say. I wasnt over bothered about Fowler because of things i've heard about him from ex-professionals. I am however disappointed over the JFH affair because i dont believe that Fryatt and Hume are anywhere near good enough to take this club where we want it to go. As of yet they are not even setting this league alight. Hope i'm wrong.

proberbly about half the signings we have made are better than what we had in that position last year.
