What's our best XI now?

In 3 seasons some people will still be bleating on about how Vardy is still the only player who is good enough to start up front for us.

After the Brighton game it would be lunacy not to start Daka and Ihenacho again against Villa.

Let's pretend that Daka played against Chelsea and missed the 3 chances that Vardy did. And then Vardy played at Brighton and linked up with his strike partner for one goal and scored another himself. How many of you would be shouting to bring Daka into the team?

Remember when Puel couldn’t get a tune out of Vardy because of his unfathomable tactics and people were saying the best striker this club has ever had in its entire history was finished? And then a new manager came in and used him properly and he had one of his best ever seasons?

yeah, that

He also went off the boil when Ranieri lost the plot.

You mean the manager we have right now?

That’s him
Puel was fixed on a 4-4-2 formation with slow posession football. Rodgers has still been trying to play counter football with Vardy as a spearhead and it's not working. Teams are wise to it. The attacking pattern and shape when Vardy is a lone striker has become too predictable.

It's not currently last season though.
No. Erm.... is that it?

Do you think he's suddenly not our best striker after an 8 week summer? Or, as is more likely, do you think the exact same thing that happened to him under both Ranieri (the bad one) and Puel might be happening under this version of Rodgers?

It ain't no rocket science my old mucker.

He’s also five years older than when we sacked Ranieri and three years older than when we sacked Puel. And for the record, that isn’t rocket science either.

And no, I don’t think he’s our best option up-front now. And that doesn’t make me a **** or mean I don’t think he was our best striker option for a very long time.

And actually none of this is science, rocket-based or not. It s just your opinion and mine.
