Little in it on paper really, the AMD has faster bus speeds and more L1 cache, the Intel has more L2 cache.

The Intel benchmarks a fair bit higher though.

But athlon tend to be weirdly faster and from my experience don't seem to slow much with age.

Personally i'd take the athlon, just make sure you've got a decent cooling system!

Exactly the same - £349. Both same spec machines apart from the processor.

You'd be mad to buy the AMD then IMO.

I'd go with the Intel chip, they use more of my companies products to make their chips than GF (the foundry making AMD chips) so I'll get slightly more sales in.
