The agent of Brazilian striker Adriano claims that Chelsea have enquired about the availability of the Internazionale star.
Gilmar Rinaldi insists Blues supremo Roman Abramovich personally rang Inter counterpart Massimo Moratti to sound him out about a price for the South American.
Rinaldi added that Real Madrid were also definitely interested in the hit-man who turns 23 later this month.
Although he is adamant Adriano is happy where he is, Rinaldi intimated that he could end up being prised from the Serie A giants by a multi-million pound offer.
"Adriano wants to stay at Inter, but there are big teams that have asked for him," he declared.
"The last team was Chelsea. From what I know, Abramovich called Moratti for that reason.
"Everybody knows about the interest of Real Madrid to which you now have to add that of Chelsea.
"I insist that Adriano is happy at Inter, but we will see what happens and if the teams manage to convince him."
It is claimed that interested suitors would have to find around €70 million to convince Inter to do business, a figure that would appear more accessible to Chelsea than Real.
The Spaniards did pay a similar figure to secure Zinedine Zidane from Juventus in the summer of 2001, but would struggle to match the financial clout of Abramovich.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claimed recently when quizzed about his alleged meeting with Arsenal defender Ashley Cole that he was in fact in Italy talking to Adriano, a comment that was dismissed as a flippant quip.
However, it now appears there was more truth to the comment than was first thought.
