Is my idea of not leaving till 5 a really bad one? Why is everyone going so early?

Working in the transport industry, we have vehicles in London daily. It can take an hour to move a couple of miles in rush hour.

I would certainly leave no later than 3.30pm

If your going straight down the M1, you need to remember that Luton is still causing delays. Leaving at 5pm will ensure you hit every bit of traffic possible.

For the first time in ages I decided to do the decent thing and offer the poorly Mrs SJN the opportunity to go and see her beloved Everton just down the road at Luton.

Unfortunately, she is too ill to go and is in fact stuck at the Royal Marsden until Thursday (10 mins walk from Stamford Bridge apparently), so now it's too late to get a ticket for the City game and so NO, I won't be going either!

It will take me just over an hour to get to Stanmore I reckon and then about and hour on the tube, so I should still be there for just gone 7.

Commuter traffic around Stanmore puts you out - that's the probelm. Although the tube links are forgiving from Stanmore.

I can't wait - not because of the football, mainly because I have a day off the following day.
