Glenn Hoddle.....dumped out of England hotseat for his unfortunate remarks about handicapped people as far as I recall?! But this has absolutely NOTHING to do with his managerial capabilities! He gets my vote, without a doubt.

And he worked wonders at Wolves.. so much so that their fans were singing "Hoddle for Leicester" when he brought his team here :icon_roll

According to todays Scottish Mirror Jewell is the man Mandaric wants. They report that Jewell gave the job serious consideration last time before Megson was appointed but thought it was too early to return but now he may well be ready.Mandaric will have talks with him this week apparently and 'push the boat' out by offering Jewell a big contract. It is thought Mandaric is put off by the half a million Coventry would wantfor Dowie
I'd post the link but I'm fecked if I can find it but its probably been posted elsewhere,I just can't be arsed looking throught the 28 Manager Threads

makes sense.weve got £300k to play with aswell.would be a kick in the balls to Bolton:icon_bigg

From the Mirror:

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric wants a second crack at persuading Paul Jewell to accept the manager's job.

Jewell has already turned down one approach from the Foxes this season, before Gary Megson was handed the role. Now with Megson having made a quick exit from the Walkers Stadium to take over at Bolton, Mandaric is finally hoping to win Jewell around.

The former Wigan boss has been taking time away from football, and he is just coming back to England after a break in Dubai on media business.

The highly-rated Scouser admitted that he gave the Leicester job serious consideration two months ago but felt he was 'not ready'. However he could be in a different mood now.

Mandaric plans to have a chat with Jewell this week. His CV and availability have pushed him ahead of rival candidates like Iain Dowie at Coventry and free agent Peter Reid.

Ironically Jewell recommended Megson for the post last time, but Mandaric has not held that against him.

Mandaric will push the boat out and offer Jewell a big contract, knowing that there is no compensation to pay.

He is reluctant to pursue Dowie because hard-up Coventry would like a £500,000 pay-day, and to lose his salary from their stretched payroll.

If Milan could get either of Jewell or Souness, that would be excellent!
Dowie or Grayson would still be good.

Thank god Megson f****d off !

My choices for replacements would have to be:

1. Simon Grayson
2. Stuart Pearce
3. Paul Jewell (Maybe its not B&H I am smoking)

Walsh would be a great addition to the coaching team, if for no reason other then to slap our players about at half time.

While I am here................... why don't any of the new signings ever get a game,,,, ?????? are the real?

For crying out loud, your user name is going to annoy the feck out of me.

Latest names linked with Walkers hotseat are Joe Royal (according to the News of the World MMs choice)other names linked in the People this morning are Gary Mccallister Ian Holloway and Dowie.Souness has put his name in the hat for the republic job.
IMO I think it should be Gary Mccallister for the job as he did well at celtic before having to leave due to his wife being seriously ill.
Also could be a way of saving money if Mccallister was to get the job as he could use all Smegsons Coats and training gear.(same Initials and all )

Sorry my mistake Coventry still did do quite a good job there
:icon_redf:icon_redf:icon_redf

He did, but hasn't really shown any interest in returning to a club as far as I'm aware. Don't think he's applied for the City job before, and he's had plenty of chances!

But he Lost his wife in March 2006 and has probably needed some time to get over that.IMO Macca would be a good choice as he Taggs and Walshie could instill the passion for the club that has been missing for the last 4/5 years

Holloway's going to be busy, as he's also taking over at Norwich....

well that's unless Martin Allen is who it has been reported today has had 2 interviews there.... message for Delia, he's good at interviews - as the 3rd interview put him in the kitchen with Ramsey or Pierre White & see how they gel......

I'd like to see Paul Jewell as manager. Wouldn't mind Joe Royle as at least he'd have us playing attacking football. I don't buy Taggart and Walshie instilling passion for the club though. Most players are mercenary these days unless they're local products.
