Taylor for me was the worst. And for the same reasons as everyone else has stated already. Wasted money, poor management of existing quality players causing them to leave, ego, pointy nose etc.

Best... tough call. MON did it in an era that was harder to attract players and achieve success, but did not scale the overall heights set by other managers.

The point I was making was that the Gillies team was top within sight of the winning post.

As I recall Peter Taylor's team was top near the beginning of the season - on the back of some fairly ordinary performances. This was a phenomenon which many of us found not very convincing....and the team sunk and sunk.

In contract - and as you know - we had sustained success for a long time and even in the season when he was sacked and we were relegated (1969) - we of course reasched the FA Cup Final.

I have no hesitation in voting for Peter Taylor. He (and the incumbent Board) acted in such a way that the Club has yet to recover from his folly.

That's the reason I only just let him off.

Interesting that not one person has voted for Bryan Hamilton - his short time here was pretty abysmal, he got us relegated, we went on a run of about 12 games without even scoring in Divsiion 2 during that 18 months or so. If Pleat hadn't have tken over in 1988, we'd have been in Division 3.
