Jason Wilcox has agreed a new one-year deal with Leicester City.

The 33-year-old former England international's current contract was due to expire at the end of June.

But Wilcox has jumped at the chance to remain at the Walkers Stadium for another season and is desperate to play a full part in the club's 2005/06 Championship promotion push.

The experienced winger moved to the East Midlands in July from Leeds United but managed only 15 appearances last term after damaging his cruciate ligament during the 1-1 at Coventry in October.

And manager Craig Levein is delighted that the ex-Blackburn man has agreed new terms and pledged his short-term future to the Foxes.

Levein said: "I am pleased that Jason has agreed a new deal and I am sure he will prove to be an integral part of our squad next season.

"He is a model professional and showed a lot of grit and determination in bouncing back from his latest injury set-back. Retirement never once crossed his mind.

"Jason is the kind of player that you want in the dressing room and once all the relevant paperwork has been completed then I'll look forward to welcoming him back with the rest of the lads for pre-season training on July 1."

CL must see something in him,fecking well hidden if you ask me.''The kind of player you want in the dressing room'' just as long as he stays in there we will be fine.I'm not too bothered I see him as a 'cover' player maybe he's good at motivating the team.He must be on 'peanuts' though.

What does he do in the dressing room? Tell jokes, stories, I know why Levein has said this - Wilcox has a great porn collection!
 
I dont think we can judge Wilcox because we simple havn't seen enough of him. If CL thinks that Wilcox can do a good job for us next season then lets hope he is right.
