Anybody who fought in WW1 or WW2 (For the Allies obviously not the germans!)

Just curious as to what you consider to make a difference?

I realise every soliders life is as valuable as any other no matter what the cause, but WW1 and WW2 saw men who didnt even want to be in the army go and fight.

Any war since (to my knowledge) has seen soliders go fight a war, which they get paid to do and when they joined the army they knew that they might be called upon.

In todays society how many 'ordinary' men can you honestly say would go and fight in a war if they were called up?

Not arguing with you, just curious. To be honest, the above sentance is above & beyond argument :038:

I would also add to that sentance those that for whatever reason couldn't go to war, but stayed behind and helped during the Blitz, i.e. The Dads Army
