Don't ask me why that was my first response to this thread because I don't bloody well know, alright.

He's been Germany's regular 2nd or 3rd choice for years? It's like not calling Fraser Forster or Jack Butland an international signing.

An absolutely cracking signing anyway, especially for that cut price. Great to have 2 very good goalkeepers competing and not bricking it that we were an injury or red card away from wheeling out Schwarzer with his Zimmer frame.

Zieler will no doubt start out as number 2 but I would imagine (and hope) that he will get a fair chance to compete, especially given that there will be more games to show Ranieri why they should play

I certainly don't think Schmeichel will leave. But I don't think Zieler is signed as a clear-cut back-up. It would be a strange career move for him
